Google opens SynthID AI detector to the public

Google has released SynthID, its AI content detector, for everyone worldwide. With a free Google account, you can upload images, videos, or audio to check for SynthID's invisible watermark, which marks media generated by Google's models and some partners like OpenAI and NVIDIA. Daily checks are limited to around 10 per user. But not all AI-generated content has SynthID watermarks, so results aren’t foolproof.

Why it mattersAI-generated media is flooding the Internet, making it tough to tell what's real. Google's tool helps flag AI-made content from certain platforms—but plenty of AI output still goes undetected.
