Global shipments of AI glasses jumped 263% in the first half of 2026, led by Meta, according to Counterpoint Research. Meta held a 94% share of the display-less AI glasses market, with shipments up 260% year-over-year. Most rival products are reportedly still in development. Apple is said to be aiming to launch its display-less smart glasses in 2027. Display-equipped glasses made up just 4% of shipments.

OpenAI rolls out GPT-6 Astra to most paying users
