Microsoft launches its own decision model using Alibaba tech
Microsoft has released Decision-1, a decision-making AI tool running on Alibaba’s Qwen3.5-9B model, not OpenAI’s tech. It’s available on Foundry for $0.042 per million input tokens, matching rival TypeSafe’s Jev product. Microsoft is using Decision-1 internally for things like Xbox player feedback and Copilot grading. The company plans to shift to its own models later but is pushing to keep key AI workflows on its platform instead of relying on startups.
