OpenAI tests advertiser-sponsored chatbots in ChatGPT
OpenAI is testing sponsored AI chatbots inside ChatGPT, letting users talk directly with bots made by businesses after seeing ads. These agents are labeled and kept separate from normal ChatGPT replies. New tools also let advertisers design and analyze ad campaigns using plain English, with options to auto-generate text and images. HubSpot and Shopify are the first business partners. Only select U.S. advertisers can try the feature for now.

OpenAI rolls out GPT-6 Astra to most paying users

Jacob Coxon, who worked on AI training at Anthropic and previously OpenAI, resigned this week. He posted that large AI firms are 'gambling with our lives' by pushing towards systems they may not be able to control. Coxon says both companies know the risks but feel locked in a race to develop powerful AI anyway. He called for drastic steps like a pause on new model improvements.
