Arc Raiders Update Schedule Slowed to Prevent Developer Burnout
Embark Studios is moving away from monthly content drops for its extraction shooter Arc Raiders, after staff burnout forced a rethink of their update schedule. The studio will now focus on two major updates per year, plus smaller tweaks, instead of the previous rapid-fire releases. Embark says the shift is meant to protect developers’ well-being and maintain the quality of future releases.
- Arc Raiders peaked at over 480,000 players
- Monthly updates led to staff exhaustion
- Content was cut to keep up with early pace
- Schedule now targets two major updates yearly
