Asia Pacific card fraud rates now lowest on Stripe
Stripe reports that, for the first time, businesses in Asia Pacific processed through its platform had lower card fraud rates than those in all other regions as of early 2026. Businesses in Malaysia saw a 74% decrease in fraud from 2022 to 2025, and Japan’s implementation of mandatory 3D Secure helped reduce fraud disputes by over 30% in 2025 compared to 2024. Card fraud declined in Europe overall as well, though not as quickly.
