Google Chrome adopts two-week update schedule
Google has launched Chrome 153 for desktop, Android, and iOS, beginning a new two-week release cycle for browser updates. This change doubles the previous update frequency, aiming to deliver security fixes and new features to users more quickly. Google cites increasingly rapid security threats and the use of AI in both threat detection and attack methods as reasons for the shift. Organizations can opt out of the faster schedule using the Extended Stable option.
