Google to end ChromeOS updates in 2034, shift to Googlebook OS
Google will stop updating ChromeOS for existing Chromebooks in 2034. Many newer models will be able to migrate to a new system called Googlebook OS, but not all. The company says support for things like classroom and business management will stick around for a while, though Googlebook’s full set of tools isn’t expected until at least late 2027. Details on exactly which devices can upgrade are still to come.

US appeals court allows states to regulate Kalshi prediction markets
A federal appeals court ruled that Ohio and Tennessee can apply their gambling laws to Kalshi, a prediction markets operator. The judges found Kalshi's sports event contracts do not qualify as 'swaps' under US law and said federal regulation does not override state gambling statutes. The decision marks the second time a federal appeals court has sided with states over Kalshi, whose activities remain under legal scrutiny in several jurisdictions.
