Digital bank Revolut says it gave sensitive customer data to an unauthorized party after receiving fake requests from what appeared to be a real government agency email. Exposed information includes personal contact details and copies of IDs. Revolut says a limited number of customers were affected and have been contacted. The breach did not impact its systems or customer funds, according to the company.
Google buys 2 million tons of carbon removal from Terradot
Google just agreed to buy the environmental equivalent of taking 2 million tons of carbon dioxide out of the air, partnering with startup Terradot to run the project on 200,000 hectares of rice farms in Brazil. The deal covers cutting methane emissions by 2030 and then permanently locking away carbon by 2040—both using rice farming techniques and soil treatments. Google says it's their biggest carbon removal purchase so far.
