Salesforce signs AI deal with global chess body FIDE
Salesforce has signed a multi-year agreement with chess’s world governing body, FIDE, making it both title sponsor and official AI technology provider. The platform will run global rankings, live player stats, and fan tools for FIDE events, including Chess World Championships through 2028. Salesforce’s AI systems and Slack will connect chess officials and automate player ratings across 204 member countries.

This is happening alongside the launch of pricier iPhone 18 Pro models. Apple says supply chain costs for memory and storage are driving the price increases.
