Tesla begins high-volume production of electric Semi truck
Tesla just opened its first factory for producing the Semi, its heavy-duty electric truck, in Sparks, Nevada. After years of delays since the 2017 reveal, Tesla will now build up to 50,000 trucks a year there. The most capable version can drive up to 500 miles on a charge and is expected to cost just under $300,000. Early orders have come in from PepsiCo, Einride, and a major trucking coalition.
