TikTok settles with Alabama for at least $100 million
TikTok will pay Alabama a minimum of $100 million to settle allegations that it misled users on safety and designed features to addict children, TechCrunch reports. The amount could increase to as much as $300 million, according to the state attorney general’s office. TikTok will also add parental controls, a daily time limit for young users, and restrictions on overnight activity.
