Modders enable DLSS 5 on AMD Radeon cards with major performance boost
A developer has managed to get Nvidia’s DLSS 5 upscaling technology running on AMD Radeon RX 9000 and RX 7000 GPUs using a custom tool called DLSS-NR-on-AMD. Over just a few days, performance in demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077 jumped from barely 30 frames per second to 75 FPS at 1080p—an approximately 150% increase overall—after rapid updates including a new "Fast mode". This mod lets AMD cards benefit from tech once locked to Nvidia hardware.
- DLSS 5 mod now works on RX 9000 and RX 7000 cards
- Performance more than doubled through rapid updates
- Cyberpunk 2077 runs at 75 FPS with mod on RX 9070 XT
- Fast mode reduces GPU workload with little image loss
- Mod currently supports DirectX 12 games using FSR
