Databricks launches defense supply chain data sharing tool
Databricks says it's rolling out a system for the Department of War so every supplier in its vast defense network can share key cost and supply chain data securely—tracking everything from expenses to supplier origins in near real time. Records stay decentralized under contractors' control, but required evidence is published, versioned, and access-controlled. The system expands on Databricks' current platform and uses open standards to limit vendor lock-in.
- Suppliers publish validated data, not raw records
- Built-in governance enforces security and data quality
- Open standards mean no single vendor controls access
- Platform builds on Databricks' existing government deployments
