Google Cloud launches Z4D VMs for storage-heavy workloads
Google Cloud has released its new storage-optimized Z4D virtual machines and bare-metal instances to all customers. The Z4D family, powered by AMD’s 5th Gen EPYC CPUs and custom Titanium SSDs, targets intense input/output workloads like databases, analytics, and AI training. Z4D doubles local SSD storage per CPU compared to previous models and delivers up to 70% faster storage speeds, supporting up to 384 virtual CPUs and 84,000 GiB of solid-state storage per server.
