Oracle has begun another round of layoffs, according to people affected and company emails reviewed by Business Insider. Posts from impacted workers appeared online Monday, and internal documents indicate double-digit percentage cuts in some teams. The company is offering US workers four weeks’ severance plus an additional week per year of service, reportedly capped at 26 weeks. Oracle said the cuts are part of broader restructuring as it increases spending on AI data centers.
Google Cloud adds granular, automated session controls
Google Cloud has finished rolling out a default 16-hour session length for all customers who hadn't set their own, aimed at reducing stolen credentials and account takeovers. They've also overhauled session controls: now you can manage policies for specific user groups, automate policy updates through APIs or Terraform, and target individual applications. Plus, session settings can be managed directly in the Google Cloud Console, not just Workspace.
