C12 and Thales unveil quantum-powered radar tracking
C12 and Thales have jointly announced QuantumTrack, a radar tracking solution that uses both quantum and traditional computing to follow multiple targets in real time. In benchmark tests on C12's quantum emulator, QuantumTrack matched top classical solver speeds and was about 100 times faster than other quantum systems tested. The project just won the 2026 Quantum Effects Award for hardware, and the team plans a real-world chip demo next.
- QuantumTrack combines quantum with conventional computing
- Matched classical solver speed, 100x faster than rival quantum approaches
- Benchmarks run on C12’s quantum hardware emulator with 20 qubits
- Won 2026 Quantum Effects Award for quantum computing hardware
- Aims for chip demonstration and possible defense deployment
