NASA, Partners Plan Earth Test for Lunar Crop Tech
NASA, alongside Canadian and German space agencies, agreed to start joint work on an Earth-based demonstration project for growing crops in controlled environments like those on the Moon. The goal is to figure out how to raise food plants for astronauts stationed at future lunar bases. The demonstrator will help test the technology and science needed to eventually support Moon missions — with one eye on Mars.
