Perseverance rover ends Martian region exploration, finds ancient rocks
NASA’s Perseverance rover has completed an extensive study of Mars’s “Lac de Charmes” region, analyzing some of the oldest exposed rocks on the planet. The rover used upgraded algorithms for improved navigation, created 13 abrasion patches for scientific analysis, and identified rocks formed by both volcanic processes and asteroid impacts. An attempted rock sampling at "Idubi" failed due to the hardness of the material, so the team is searching for alternatives nearby.
