Universal Quantum, a spinoff from the University of Sussex, just closed a $100 million Series A — the largest ever for a UK quantum startup. The company builds modular quantum computers using interconnected trapped-ion chips designed for easy scaling. Backers span the US, Europe, Japan, and Singapore.
