UW begins $231M construction on new chemistry building
The University of Washington has started building a $231.1 million Chemistry Sciences Building, replacing its old Chemistry Library Building. Scheduled to open in 2029, the five-story facility will offer lab space for research in sustainable chemistry, quantum science, and more. The project is funded by state money, UW, and private donors, and is expected to spur collaboration with industry and train future scientists.
