Apple Watch drops app switching shortcut in watchOS 27
Apple Watch users just lost the quick app switch gesture in watchOS 27. Previously, a double-press of the Digital Crown jumped you to your last used app, but that's gone. Now, double-press opens a list of top apps, as Apple plans to use the old shortcut for a new 'Live Rewind' audio feature later this year. The gesture change is permanent; there's no setting to restore the old switch.
- Double-press Digital Crown no longer switches apps
- New gesture launches top-used apps grid instead
- Old shortcut to be repurposed for 'Live Rewind' audio tool
- No way to revert to old switcher shortcut
