ArcheAge S launches with revamped class and gear systems
Kakao Games has revealed new details for ArcheAge S: Strait of Freedom, positioning it as a direct sequel to the original ArcheAge MMORPG. Led by original executive producer Kim Kyung-tae, the new game moves to an isometric view and eliminates fixed character classes. Gear now determines combat abilities, and crafting is no longer the sole way to obtain equipment, addressing economic flaws from the previous game's system.
- Isometric camera replaces third-person view
- No fixed character classes, gear-based progression
- Crafting is not mandatory for gear acquisition
- Design addresses economic issues from original ArcheAge
