Framework sets pre-order date for Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 mini PC

Framework will open pre-orders for its mini desktop PC powered by AMD’s new Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 chip on September 30. The rest of the machine, including motherboard and case, stays unchanged for backwards compatibility. Pricing is still unknown but should be higher than the prior Ryzen 395 model. The updated desktop can handle up to 192 GB memory and ships with either Fedora or Windows 11.

Why it mattersFramework targets upgraders who value modular PCs, so a processor upgrade without forcing a new case or board keeps repair and upgrade options wider. Higher memory ceiling signals this isn’t just a spec bump—it could be relevant for both tinkerers and small workstations.
