Google unveils Fitbit Edge, a $180 fitness tracker with big display

Google just launched its newest fitness tracker, the Fitbit Edge, hitting shelves at $179.99. The Edge is designed to fill the gap between basic fitness bands and full smartwatches, offering a pill-shaped OLED touchscreen that's 46% larger than the old Charge 6. It sports about a week of battery life, is water and dust resistant, and tracks advanced health stats with built-in GPS and an altimeter. You’ll need a Google Health subscription to unlock all coaching features.

Why it mattersThe Fitbit Edge targets users who want a sleek tracker with a vibrant display, but don’t need a full smartwatch. It marks Google's continued push to blend Fitbit’s health tools with its broader wearable ecosystem.
