Open-source tool lets Mac users delete Apple Intelligence models

A new open-source command-line tool, RemoveMacAI, has been released to help Mac users disable Apple Intelligence features on macOS 27 and delete their downloaded AI models. The tool uses configuration profiles and Apple's own asset management system to remove models—freeing up about 10 to 14GB of storage—without requiring changes to protected system files. Users can remove selected features or all of Apple Intelligence, and the process is reversible.

Why it mattersMac users concerned about storage or privacy now have a way to control the presence of Apple's AI components, after Apple removed the simple option to fully disable these features. The tool demonstrates demand for more granular control over integrated AI in mainstream operating systems.
