Balwaan Krishi raises ₹100 crore for domestic farm equipment
Balwaan Krishi just pulled in ₹100 crore (about $10 million) in Series B funding, led by First Bridge India Growth Fund and other unnamed investors. The agtech startup says it’ll use the money mainly to bump up Indian manufacturing of farm equipment, cut its reliance on imports, and build out connected tools—think weeders and sprayers that track maintenance. Expansion will also target dealer and service support in southern India, aiming straight at small farmers priced out of big machines.
- Series B led by First Bridge India Growth Fund
- More than 400,000 farmers already use Balwaan gear
- Plans include connected, smart farm equipment
- Dealer network to expand in southern India
- Cuts dependence on imported machinery
