Four US startups each raise over $1 billion this week
Four US startups each hauled in at least $1 billion in funding this week, according to Crunchbase. The Boring Company led the pack with a $3 billion round—valuing the tunnel project at $23 billion—while AI coding firm Cognition drew $2 billion and is now valued at $48 billion. Motive, for fleet management, secured $1.3 billion, and reusable rocket builder Stoke Space landed $1 billion.

Uber invests $10 million more in Carrum Mobility

Karnataka to fund 100 startups for government pilot projects
The Karnataka government will provide up to Rs 25 lakh each to around 100 startups to run pilot projects in government departments over three years. The Rs 25 crore initiative, called Government First, is part of the Elevate programme under the state’s 2025-30 Startup Policy. Startups will pilot solutions in sectors such as AI, healthcare, and education, retaining intellectual property rights while potentially scaling across departments.
Félix raises $200M for WhatsApp remittance tool
Félix, which lets Latino immigrants send money home via WhatsApp, just raised $200 million in Series C funding. Andreessen Horowitz put in $87 million of equity; General Catalyst gave $113 million in growth debt. The Miami startup says it’s handled over $8 billion in payments so far, serving U.S. users with families in 11 Latin American countries. Félix plans to expand into new markets with the cash.
