Anthropic launches Claude Code mods for deep customization
Anthropic has rolled out mods for Claude Code, letting developers change both how the tool looks and acts. These mods are JavaScript or TypeScript functions that can intercept prompts, tweak interface elements, and add new features—far beyond what previous settings allowed. Now, developers can share mods as installable plugins. Mods are available by default in the latest Claude Code update and are already used for several built-in features.
- Mods intercept prompts and permission requests
- Developers can share mods as plugins
- Mods can update interfaces live during use
- Feature available in Claude Code 2.1.287 and up
