OpenAI launches GPT-6.1 Sol and expands agents at DevDay 2026
OpenAI rolled out several developer-focused updates at its DevDay 2026, led by the release of GPT-6.1 Sol, a coding and professional-use AI model priced at one-fifth the input/output cost of Astra. The Agents API now lets applications operate software via graphical interfaces, run multiple agents, and take actions on computers—features also available in Codex and ChatGPT Work for selected users. Cloud-based Codex environments, an updated plugin system, new Decisions API, and persistent agents rounded out the launch.
