Anthropic launches Claude Opus 5.5 for half the price of Fable 5.1
Anthropic just released Claude Opus 5.5, set to match the accuracy of its pricier Fable 5.1 model on most tasks but at less than half the token cost. In tests using Anthropic's API, both models handled coding challenges equally well, though Opus 5.5 led in several benchmarks and handled more tokens at once. Opus 5.5 is also faster and significantly cheaper, at $4 per million input tokens versus Fable 5.1's $10.
