Apple tests controls for AI suggestions in Messages
Apple’s next iOS update could let you turn off annoying AI tips in the Messages app. iOS 27.2, now in beta, brings Suggested Actions—one-tap prompts based on your chat—but new controls found in the beta let you toggle these by category or have the app hide ones you don’t use for 30 days. These granular settings aren’t live yet, but they’re in the code and likely coming soon.
- Suggested Actions offer context-based prompts in Messages
- Feature returns in iOS 27.2 beta after previous removal
- Users can turn off unwanted suggestion categories
- Unused suggestions can hide automatically after 30 days
