Arizona judge must resentence after AI video used in court
An Arizona appeals court has ordered the resentencing of a man convicted of manslaughter after determining that an AI-generated video of the victim, presented during sentencing, inappropriately influenced the judge. The video, created and scripted by the victim's sister, depicted the deceased expressing forgiveness toward his killer. The court found the video had an excessive emotional effect and ruled the original sentence must be reconsidered, though the conviction remains.
