Apple appoints Steve Smith to lead mergers and acquisitions
Apple has put Steve Smith in charge of mergers and acquisitions, a switch that moves M&A oversight from Adrian Perica—who keeps his job running iCloud, Fitness+, and Apple News. Smith will report to the CFO now instead of the CEO. The change is part of new CEO John Ternus’ leadership reshuffle, which also made Carson Oliver vice president of the App Store. Perica and Apple Music lead Oliver Schusser are seen as possible successors to services head Eddy Cue.
