Apple CEO John Ternus takes direct role in design teams
Apple’s new CEO, John Ternus, is now deeply involved with both industrial and software design teams, reportedly joining studio sessions multiple times a week. Unlike Tim Cook, who visited about once a month, Ternus is making hands-on design a bigger priority. While Apple hasn't filled its longstanding Chief Design Officer vacancy, Ternus is overseeing decisions himself, promoting in-house staff and hiring externally as needed.
- Ternus visits design studios several times weekly
- No search for Chief Design Officer is underway
- Key design leads promoted internally, plus new hires
