AWS adds Web Functions to Lambda lineup

AWS introduced Lambda Web Functions, letting you deploy off-the-shelf HTTP web apps—think Express or Next.js—straight to Lambda without converting them to specialized event handlers. The update means your usual Node.js server code just works: you deploy, AWS manages scaling, global reach, and billing for only the CPU your code actually uses. It's designed for web applications and APIs that handle many simultaneous users.

Why it mattersThis makes deploying standard web frameworks on AWS much simpler—no more fitting your code to match Lambda's old event-driven style. You get global scalability and pay for active CPU, which helps with cost control for apps that do a lot of waiting on databases or other APIs.
