Meta launches new AI tools targeting child exploitation ads
Meta has introduced new artificial intelligence systems to detect advertisements on Facebook and Instagram that covertly direct users to child sexual abuse material or activities outside its platforms. The company removed 33.2 million pieces of child exploitation content globally in the first half of 2026, with over 97% detected before user reports.
