MongoDB CEO exits abruptly, former leader returns as interim
MongoDB’s CEO, Chirantan Desai, has abruptly resigned after only ten months, leaving to join Meta in a newly created executive role. The news sent MongoDB’s stock plunging by over $6 billion. To stabilize things, the company’s long-standing former CEO, Dev Ittycheria, has been brought back as interim leader. Ittycheria says he’ll maintain MongoDB’s current strategy, focusing on expanding its database capabilities to support new AI workloads.
