Seattle forms task force to boost tech sector diversity
Seattle’s mayor has assembled an 18-person task force with executives from Amazon, Spotify, cleantech, and other sectors to figure out how to steer the city’s economy away from overdependence on giant technology companies. Kicking off this fall, the group will focus on downtown recovery, attracting and keeping businesses, and breaking down barriers for startups. First findings are due in early 2027, aiming to make the city friendlier to entrepreneurs and stronger in sectors like AI and clean energy.
