Tim Cook voices Apple support for EU child online safety plans
Apple executive chairman Tim Cook met with EU officials in Strasbourg on Tuesday, backing new European efforts to protect children online. Cook said Apple is committed to child safety and praised the EU for moving toward unified rules. The bloc's recent proposal would bar kids under 13 from social media and restrict 13- and 14-year-olds to special accounts tied to a guardian. The proposal still needs negotiation before becoming law.
