UW’s GIX program moves to Microsoft campus with $42M support
The University of Washington’s Global Innovation Exchange (GIX) program just opened its new home inside Microsoft’s Redmond campus, thanks to a $42 million in-kind contribution from the company. UW will lease the 48,500-square-foot space rent-free. GIX offers graduate degrees in tech innovation, enrolling over 150 students a year and running both in-person and online options. The space includes labs, a makerspace, and high-tech remote learning facilities.
