Elon Musk admits lack of experience in chipmaking
Elon Musk, after recently predicting China could catch up in semiconductor manufacturing within two to three years, has now said he personally doesn't know how to make chips. Speaking to a Tesla owners group, Musk admitted he and his team have much to learn in this area. He's aiming to modify existing equipment to boost wafer production at his Terafab project, but says the initiative could take several years to deliver results.
