Huawei reveals 7.2Tbps optical module for AI data centers
Huawei just showed off a 7.2-terabit-per-second optical module at a Shenzhen expo. It's supposed to speed up how AI data centers move information by ditching old copper wires for light-based connections. The module uses 36 channels at 200Gbps each. Huawei says it's in the product development stage, aiming for faster AI systems once manufacturing ramps up.
