NVIDIA Vera CPU outpaces AMD Zen 5 in AI sandbox tests
NVIDIA's Arm-based Vera CPU outperformed AMD's Zen 5 EPYC chips in tests simulating agent-based AI workloads, according to Daytona. Vera brought 2,000 AI sandboxes online in under 27 seconds, while the AMD EPYC 9755 needed nearly 88 seconds just to launch 1,000. Vera also completed more agent jobs per second and needed fewer machines to hit the same throughput. AMD's newer Zen 6 chips weren't benchmarked here.
- Vera brought up 2,000 sandboxes in 27 seconds
- AMD EPYC 9755 took 88 seconds for 1,000 sandboxes
- Vera completed 13.3 jobs/sec, topping EPYC performance
- Vera used 15%–38% fewer machines than AMD chips for same jobs
