YMTC insider says memory shortage could last until 2029
An employee at Chinese memory maker YMTC believes the global memory chip shortage could drag on for three more years, pushing a potential end out to late 2029. The prediction, reported anonymously, is much longer than some analysts’ forecasts. YMTC has hiked its chip prices and is focusing on higher-margin products, which might mean fewer affordable SSDs for consumers.
