AI-powered hardhat offers 360-degree site safety
Edmonton-based startup SenseHuman AI has developed a hardhat with built-in AI and four cameras that monitors a construction worker’s surroundings for hazards in real time. If the system detects a nearby danger—like a trench or a moving machine—it sends a vibration in the helmet pointing to the threat. The company, already running pilots and signing customers, is now seeking investors to ramp up manufacturing. The aim: cut down on the thousands of minor injuries happening at worksites each year.
- Hardhat has 360-degree machine vision coverage
- Vibrates to alert users of nearby hazards
- Custom risk settings for different job sites
- Seeking funding to expand production
- Targeting reduction of common industry injuries
