Cloudflare launches certificate authority for quantum-resistant web
Cloudflare just announced it's becoming a certificate authority (CA), with plans to issue a new type of post-quantum secure credential called Merkle Tree Certificates (MTCs). They're targeting early 2027 for MTC support in Chrome’s upcoming quantum-resistant root store. Standard MTC issuance will be free, making it easier for websites to upgrade before quantum computers threaten today's encryption.
