Germany selects LOGIQC to compete for quantum funding
Germany picked the LOGIQC consortium, led by planqc, as one of six groups competing for up to €640 million in public funding to build error-corrected quantum computers. LOGIQC will focus on using neutral ytterbium atoms to develop a hardware-efficient, error-corrected system. Each team has until March 2027 to meet strict technical milestones. The goal is to have at least two leading quantum machines ready for industrial use in Europe by 2030.
- Six consortia selected for up to €640M funding
- LOGIQC aims for error-corrected neutral atom system
- Public-private partnerships to scale up hardware
- 2027 deadline for key technical milestones
- Goal: two industrial-grade quantum computers by 2030
