Hubble spots unusual wave at Saturn's south pole
NASA says Hubble has detected a rare ten-sided wave circling Saturn's south pole, a feature scientists haven't seen before. This new pattern appears to be strengthening, giving astronomers a chance to watch a giant atmospheric change in real time. Saturn's north pole already has a famous hexagonal jet stream, but this southern pattern is new. The discovery comes as Saturn enters opposition, making it especially visible in the night sky.
