NASA details role in Martian Moons mission with JAXA
NASA will preview its work on the Japanese Martian Moons eXploration (MMX) mission in a teleconference on October 15. The spacecraft, set to launch October 19 from Japan, will arrive at Mars in August 2027, study its moons, and bring back a sample from Phobos by 2031. NASA is contributing key instruments, sampling gear, and deep space communications for the effort.
